Media companies are organizations that produce, distribute, or exhibit various forms of media content, such as news, entertainment, information, or advertising. Media companies can operate in different sectors of the media industry, such as broadcasting, publishing, internet, film, music, or gaming. Media companies can also vary in size, scope, and ownership, ranging from small independent firms to large multinational conglomerates.

Together, these companies accounted for over 80% of the total revenue of the U.S. media and entertainment industry in 2020.
